Lou Gonzalez

An independent and thoughtful voice for Park County
District 2 Commissioner.

How great it is to live in Park County.

We have all made the choice to live here. To raise our families here. That choice brings us together in a common cause which is to ensure that Park County retains its splendor while planning for a sustainable future. We all agree that a big part of our choice is to preserve the incredible beauty we all enjoy in these mountains. In order to do that we must also choose to find a balance between our fierce independence that we treasure, with a level of services that we deserve, proportionate to what our county can successfully provide.

Park County

2,200 Square Miles

We share this area with over 17,000 people. We are the size of Delaware. That works out to be 23 people per square mile. Compare that density to Jeffco or Summit County.  But we are still a blend of bedroom communities and traditional agriculture to all the adjacent locations: Breckenridge, Cañon City, Denver.  We are a treasure trove of outdoor recreational facilities that need to be protected, promoted and invested in. We have become a gateway to the other recreational areas which surround us. Our future is balanced with the knowledge of what choices we make today will enable us to move forward in a positive way toward the future. A future that we choose. A future that is best for us as individuals and best for Park County in the years to come.

The things that bind us by living here, far surpass the things that divide us.

Volunteer

I chose to volunteer my time as a Planning Commissioner, Member of the Strategic Master Plan Initiative in 2000-2001, Land Use Regulation Committee, Bailey Day Committee, Kids Parade Leader, and I currently serve on the Park County Broadband Advisory Board. I chose to give my most precious commodity – volunteering my time – back to this community that I love so much. I chose to bring my 42+ years of practical mountain living
experience to the decisions I will make for you...
